AngelIt was night. It had been a very long day, and Bianca Erela was driving home when the backfire startled her. The old Chevy pickup was primer gray, and its driver's side taillight was busted. The too-bright whiteness of the bulb pierced the darkness through the hole in the shattered red glass. She steered her little black Volvo into another lane to pass the truck when she saw it. A vivid silver-white light rapidly descended upon the truck. It burned so brightly that the taillight seemed dim in comparison. She watched, careful not to blink, as the mysterious object settled somewhere in the truck's cab.Angel

Pixels, Prozac, and PerceptionThe light reflected off of her pupils. They quickly shrank from the flash, almost as if they wanted to hide, before they returned to normal. You wouldn’t notice if you weren’t looking, though; her irises were almost as dark as the black discs they encircled. The electric whirring of the camera stopped, and I checked the image on the display. Flawless. She always looked flawless, even in the photos that she claimed were not good enough.
